Madison Marathon
Madison, WI – 11/13/22
My 24th marathon. I ran this as a celebration of life of Suellen and her love of running in costume. I was Weird Al, complete with working mini-accordion. So many cheers and smiles and friends along the course. I ran just under 4 hours. Suellen got to run the half marathon in spirit, with the help of My Team Triumph, who ran with an empty wheelchair with her picture in it.
Gilda’s 5k

Another charity run I ran while pushing Suellen. We had our Roseanne Roseannadanna outfits in honor of Gilda.
Dousman Duathlon
Dousman, WI – 10/9/22
Second in the duathlon series, it was chilly but sunny. I finished 2nd woman overall again. Wore my Blues Brothers outfit on the second run in honor of the Chicago Marathon going on the same day.
Badger Challenge 5k
Madison, WI – 9/25/22
Suellen wasn’t able to walk distance any more, so we got an adult jogging stroller and I pushed her for the 5k. We were Gilligan and the Skipper, since she was the captain of the ship.
Cooney Duathlon
Oconomowoc, WI – 9/24/22
Duathlon is back in Wisconsin! It was a great race, I finished 2nd woman overall. I wore a tutu for the second run 🙂
Ironman 70.3 Relay
Madison, WI – 9/10/22
I had this registration rolled over from previous races, so found a couple friends to swim and bike for the team, then I ran the half marathon. I dressed as the Energizer Bunny complete with drum :). I ran a 1:46:13.
Sugar River Tri (duathlon)
Belleville, WI – 8/28/22
Decided to do one tri this year, and then the swim got cancelled due to water quality issues. It was rainy during the bike, but still a fun race. I finished 2nd in my age group.
Sage City Super Sprint Tri
Monticello, IL – 8/13/22
A small triathlon Suellen trained for. It was her “ironman”, and I was so proud of her for completing it.
Juneau 5k
Juneau, AK – 7/24/22
My wife Suellen trained through chemo to walk a 5k, and she did it! It was hard and she needed a cane, but we made it 3.1 miles.
Dances with Dirt, Devil’s Lake trail half marathon
Manitowoc, WI – 7/9/22
Crazy hilly trail race north of Madison. Wore an appropriately devilish outfit, and it was a beautiful run. I finished in 2:02:33, which I was quite happy with given the terrain.
Lake Country Freedom 10k
Oconomowoc, WI – 7/2/22
Did a little patriotic race east of Madison, ran a 45:40 and was second woman finisher.
HFM Maritime Marathon
Manitowoc, WI – 6/12/22
Really perfect day, 55 degrees at the start and 58 at the finish, I ran 3:44:40, and qualified for Boston 2023. It was a beautiful, small race, nice to not fight the crowds. I wore my “Manitowoc Minute” inspired “watch out for deer” outfit
Run Madtown half marathon
Delafield, WI – 5/29/22
Two weeks after catching COVID, I was recovered enough to run this as a training run for the marathon in June. I felt good, ran a 1:46:14, first place in my age group.
Lake Monona 20k
Madison, WI -5/7/22
Fun local race I do most years. I was the “Lake Monona Mermaid” for this one. I ran easy to start and then picked it up as I went along. Finished in 1:37:47, first in my age group.
J-Hawk Early Bird Duathlon
Whitewater, WI – 5/1/22
Early season duathlon, it was chilly and rained a little. I couldn’t stay with the lead woman on the first run, but hammered the bike to pass her and build enough lead to not be caught on the second run. I finished first overall woman.
Run from the Taxman half marathon
Delafield, WI – 4/16/22
Very hilly trail race at Lapham Peak in Kettle Moraine state park. It was cold and windy, but still a nice time. I ran a little over 2:10, 7th woman overall. And I ran in an appropriate “run like you stole something” outfit 🙂
Luck of the Irish 10k
West Allis,WI – 3/19/21
First official race of 2021. I wore my Leprechaun outfit and carried a box of Lucky Charms the whole way 🙂 It was fun to get out and run again. My time was 45:45, 8th overall woman and first in my age group.
